(return it) depends on how well you know the shop sending it in.

(Fix it) They will sell you new pins (to get yours out you will probably have to weld to it and pull it out ... it is hardened and cannot be drilled

(Weld IT) Weld it

(buy a Spool) Spool me up

(Get a real Detroit)

The holes are elongated, if he gets new pins they'll keep slamming and break again. They'd probably send out the pins for free, BTW.

well its for the front, so no spool, a real detroit would be nice, but more spendy than we want right now, so my best bet would be to take it to a 4x shop and see if they'll exchange it?

more than likely they will send it back to Detroit and if Detroit replaces it you are in luck

but you are SOL untill it comes back

Find out where the PO (Aaron) got it from.

I know he has had that thing for at least 5 years. But who knows you might get it replaced.

-or-

Create a new receipt for it (you know how) and get it waranteed by your local parts store :D .

I didn't see were it was said it was a detroit one, I would call the manufacturer. Powertrax was really good about sending me a free extra set of pins and springs. I am sure they would at least sell you the parts to put it back together cheap.

it looks like the pin sheared and that abused the other ones so they went egg shaped.

as far as getting the pin out, I being thick skulled would try to drill it to get an extractor in it. but first take it with you somewhere that has a big magnet (hardware store etc) and see if that will suck it out. it may just me the surface tension of the oil holding it in there.

yea, the broke ends spin freely in there, just won't come out, but i don't want to get new pins/springs, and have them bust the first trip out because the holes are fawked, but if they'll hold for a while, then i'll do it, if no one has done this, i'll be the first to try then

Looks Like a Detroit, Probably is a Detroit.

Usually those pins dont break until after the carrier it's self has already broken?

wasn't sure, that's why i was asking here, i haven't dealt with an ez before, so i didn't know if was goin to be usable again, but seems the general concensus is no, so i guess i'll try to find someone to warranty it
