About a month ago I purchased a 1986 Mistubishi Montero 2 door used for $1900 in Seattle. Drove it home to Portland, and i got a sense that I purchased my first 4x4 and I truly believed I bought something special. Well, now the Girlfriend hates me because there is a lovely red 25 year old Im in love with now.

I just wanted some help in Identifying the options on the rig. On 31x10.50r15 Wildcat XTR it does 3000 RPM at 60mph. It feels like it has a very, very effn tight Limited sliup in the rear. I put a pacesetter header and 50 series flowmaster (2 1/2") on it and a weber carb. Can anyone tell me more about the rig? Im in love with what feels like an exotic that I know nothing about. First 4x4 and I have had to pull out a couple full sizes.

Can anyone tell me what to watch out for? Or what the rig has that I dont know? Or anything special? vin JA4FJ43E8GJ001031

And some more descriptions. The engine plate with gearing is under the hood. Didn't somebody mention pictures?

Those engines are pretty good machines as long as you donīt over heat it, and they donīt have a problem turning high RPMS. Do you have the auto or manual? '86 is likely a manual but some got a 3 speed auto. The manual trans in the 4 cylinder trucks are not great, they are made by Chrysler and when it goes just do the easy thing and swap in the auto and never worry about it again.:grinpimp:
