......and yes, a search has been performed.

Lots of conflicting info on the search results as far as diameter and tubing thickness goes for front and rear domestic axles. I'm looking to swap whole tubes around to various projects and would like to just hack off a whole tube from a FS truck or van and press it into my 8.8 housing to get a full float set up (approx 60 inches wide.)

Things I know:

Fronts:

69 - 76 1/2 and 3/4 ton Ford D-44's: 2.75" x .500".

77-79 1/2 ton Fords: 2.75" x .375"

1/2 ton Chevy's: 2.75" x .375"

60: 3.125 x ?

Rear:

8.8: 3.25" x .25"

most 44's: 2.75" x .25" ( I know there are variations of this)

60's: I KNOW I have seen many different sizes and thicknesses

14 bolt: 3.25" x ???????

70: ???????

Chime in with various sizes of tube so we can store all this info in one thread for ease of future referance.
