Well, to my knowledge (which isn't very good) Here are your options.

AAPA 1190.00 + Shipping + 200 core for complete case
890.00 + Shipping + 200 core for gear set

RRO 1190.00 + Shipping + core for complete case
890.00 + Shipping + core for gear set

**** AAPA & RRO buy the gears from the SAME manufacturer******

Calmini 895.00 + Shipping + core for gear set

NCO 895.00 + Shipping + core for gear set (it is Calmini's gears)

Roadless Gear 1349.00 + Shipping + 250 core for complete case
1149.00 + Shipping for gear set

If you know of anyone else who sells em let us know

Trail Tough sells them also, can't remember the price off top of my head but I think it was a little cheaper (maybe $850 for gears, $1150 for whole case)?

Depends on the 6:1.
The English imported gears are no louder than 4.16 gears.

My 6:1's (from AAPA) are quiet (.......now that they have finished grinding the rest of the t-case housing away. I was afraid to grind too much and way to lazy to take the case back out and apart, so I let natutre take its course. Gears won and housing lost the grinding war. Unfortunately, my rear seal was collateral damage (from aluminum shavings in the gear oil I presume) so now I get to take the case apart anyway to repalce that)

There are two different sets of 6:1's, one you have to grind the case, the other you don't. I have the one's from TT, and didn't have to grind the case, and the whine really isn't that loud when you take into count the soft top, no doors, 33" boggers, stero turned up..:D

Search a little harder and you can find all the info you need about the 5:8 and 6:1 cases and not get harrassed as much :flipoff2:

they advertise no grinding with the 5.8's but it's B.S. it really depends on the case....the amount of material needed to be removed ain't much anyway.....i have the 6:1's from TT pretty sure they're the same as from roadlessgear it's all 4 gears and no grinding

hey tusker unles youre trying to get all the shavings out you can just change the seal while the case is still in. why not change the seal and then your gear oil once or twice more?

"Grinding" sounds so harsh.
Less than 1/8" of material has to be shaved in a couple spots for the 6:1 gears. I do it with a die grinder and it takes about 2-3 minutes. Any dremel or drill can do the job though. Easy stuff and the instructions make it really difficult to screw up.

Also useful on the trail when 'nature calls'.

Real men don't read instructions anyway.... according to my fiance':p

I am adding a Toyota CV driveshaft too and had to change the rear output flange (need the larger, late-model variety). So, with all that work, I just decided to pull it out and take it apart to be sure it was clean. In addition to being lazy, I am also cheap. I have a lot of dough tied up in that case and I wanna look at those pretty gears again and make sure the are happy :D

I've had the AAPA/RRO gears for about 10,000 miles. The "grinding" of the 'case to fit the gears is very minor, not enough of an issue to base your buying decision on. The gears are still quiet even on the highway, and this is with my comparitively quiet hardtop body.

swith to a different product screen, then try the drivetrain section again, I had the same trouble, the link on the main page is dead but if you go in one level the links all work, It seems that area for buttons is dead, becouse whatever ends up there will not work.

Another option is Perttoworks GRS2, although not as tall (like 4.8) they will be a lot cheaper in another week. I just talked to Gary & they have a huge overstock of GRS2 gears, blowing them out for $495 a set ( no, not the GRS1, the GRS 2's for $495) about half price... not bad. :D

I was wondering what would happen to the GRS 2 after the
new generation of 5.8/6.1 gears came out.Sounds like a good
deal.
