OK, guys, I got a hypothetical question for y'all. How much extra would you guys pay for a powdercoated vs. a painted custom backspaced Humvee rim?

I think the people interesed in custom Hummer rims wouldn't care how they were coated, as long as they fit and run true. How much for an unpainted custom backspace with the rubbers? I am a Krylon master so powdercoat is a waste of money for me.

I am not selling them, just wondering if there was any interest in powdercoating.

I offer it for an extra $30 per wheel but no one has done it. For $2 ea you can paint them yourself.

we've sold several of them powder coated and we do the powder coating in house for 50 each.
So Dean has some good pricing.

Bring me your rims and they will be $50ea but since I have them stripped and ready my cost is $30 so I just offer it at my cost.

I guess it is nice having a best friend who works at a powdercoating plant? ;)

we charge $25 canadian a wheel if they're clean just need to be washed.... if its a color we stock, which is alot of colors...

One thing I have learned form having a friend who works at a powdercoat manufacturing plant is that not all powders are created equal ;)

Some are SUPER hard, some are flexible, some are pretty brittle, and on and on...

Powder coating is also like paint jogs too. Just because you can get it cheap doesn't mean you got a good deal. Some places spend allot of time on prep where others don't spend any so that is where the savings comes from.
