: Ramsey winches
Does anyone no of a Zuk vendor that deals in Ramsey winches?
I have tried all I can think of and came up with none. I have a proplus 9000 on my Dodge with a quick mount and need some new battery cables to use same winch on my Zuk.
Bobzooki 12-05-2002, 06:21 AM You might want to try:
Ramsey Winch Web Site (http://www.ramsey.com/)
Just a thought...
Rocky Road 12-05-2002, 11:20 AM You want a killer deal, do a search on Ebay for the new electric Milemarker winches. They're going for $350 for an 8k winch.
Milemarker called us about carrying them. Buyin price was $300 each, shipping was $26 each on a pallet. Visa takes 3%. An incredible markup of $13 would have been our take IF they sold. Whoopeefreakindoo. Screw dat shite!
Anyway, there's about 40 of them for sale on Ebay in Dutch and various auctions. You shouldn't have to pay but $350 for one. Spec sheets looked good on them, just dumb business for us to have done the buy-in.
Rocky Road 12-05-2002, 11:28 AM Whoops.... thought you were looking to buy until I actually READ YOUR MESSAGE.
But who really reads the POR board anyway right?:flipoff2:
Well, maybe someone else is looking for a winch.....

Aww, Glenn, c'mon. SOMEbody reads it enough to lock your help wanted thread. What's up with that, anyway? Did you get your wrist slapped by the Mods, or something?
Still waiting to buy those Sidekick t-case gears (there's always a buying freeze, the last few months before Christmas). My wife discovered when we were at Moab, why those are "must have" items. :D

No shite!!!
Nag someone out for no reason, waste all the bandwidth you want on good for squat posts, blast innocent Nube's all day long, and you're a hero for all time. You're golden!
Try and offer someone a job, a new lease on life, and you not only get shut down.... you get harrassed for it. Jihad on GLENN!!!
Let's take it a step further..... Maybe if I fire a dozen people I'll get back into good graces :flipoff2: ;) :flipoff2:

Are you just needing longer cables? If so, you can go to Home Depot or any electrical supply store and buy the same size cable and the ends to go on it. A lot cheaper than getting it from Ramsey.
Shrock 12-05-2002, 08:53 PM Yeah good info 350. Also, auto parts store carry the crimp on connectors and usually have the crimpers. The crimpers for these connectors look like bolts cutters, so they probably arent in your tool box. You could buy battery cable in the correct gauge there too.
Jim
Ramseys website does not show pictures of what I need. I need a picture. I emailed Mepco in Utah. They have the short wires and quick connect for front mount pretty cheap, but for the rear 20 foot its about $106. Too high for me. They sell the quick connects for $23, So I will get one of those and add welding cables. JCC

Glen weren't you the guy getting blasted for stealing others design on products and selling them as your own? Seems like that came up last time you put up a help wanted ad.........what's the story behind that?

I think you got it the other way around dude. Our 'stuff' sometimes pops up in other places.
We did use the "missing link' moniker from Tim Hendra, but I received permission to do so...... the only one to receive this permission I might add! If you see that term being used anywhere else you can (and perhaps should) jump their shit on it.
I will concede that there's only so many ways to skin a cat, so there's bound to be some "coincidences" and "sharing of ideas" between shops, all shops. Happens with Zuks, Toys, Jeeps, et al.
I am an easy target though since I'm a Zuk fanatic and actually participate in all things Zuk, including discussion forums. Most shops don't seem to have enough interest in Suzukis to bother.

I don't know either way, just thought it would be right to give you a chance to tell your side. You sound beliveable enough to me. Hell you even took time to email me many years ago when I 1st came onto the "net", so you seem like one of the good guys.

Is this both halves of a quick-connector? THAT I would be interested in.
See, I fried my old winch when the solenoids decided to weld themselves into the "on" postion. Had to hack the ground cable to the solenoids with a machete to shut it off. (THATs hardcore :))
Anyway... I'd rather not be in that position again, so I want to run the power cables from the battery to my new (hard mounted) 8274, so I can just yank the connector apart if that happens ever again. :D
No, thats $23 each side. You might check with a fork lift dealer or someone that works on them. They carry these disconects in differant sizes. I have not seen any that are as small as Ramseys, but it may be cheaper for me to take one of mine off and go looking. JCC
jasonmt 12-07-2002, 04:03 PM Why not just use welding quick connects - you can usually get a pack of 4 (2 Male, 2 Female) for around $15.00 ?

TNToy 12-07-2002, 04:15 PM Derrr... cuz I'm retarded? :rasta:
Duh. That wasn't completely obvious. Thanks Jason. :D
