4 ea studs and nuts, full length, full size nut
4 ea studs and nuts trimmed (see pic below)
I ground the inside edge of mine to clear my shocks. I also cut off the inside studs to clear the shocks.
There is almost no strength difference, and the taper in the holes is not modified.
4ea of the 8 studs have been cut off, (the nuts as well) similar to the below -
