20% off Trout Industries Diff Rings and most other parts!

20% off all Trout Industries Parts (except the Tire Carrier Hinges) this week only...Sale Ends at Midnight on Saturday night (9-4-04). for bumper brackets, please refer to my (pathetic) website, www.troutindustries.com and then PM or email me with part #'s. i'm also only going to charge you actual UPS Shipping charges.

DIFFERENTIAL RINGS:
these are the same diff rings found here: /forum/miscellaneous/226184-differential-rings.html
with the explanation here: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...4&page=4&pp=25 (read my post towards the bottom of the page)

i currently sell these models in 3/8" thick plate with the bolt hole pattern:
D30 (currently out of stock)
D35
D44
D60
Chrysler 8.25
Ford 8.8
GM 14Bolt (currently out of stock)
Toyota Land Cruiser

i also have 2, D60 rings from 1/2" plate without holes, and 1 D60 ring from 1/2" plate WITH holes. first come, first served on these.

the D30, D35, D44, 8.25, and 8.8 rings are normally $30 each...this week $24 each! the TLC rings are normally $32.50...and $26 this week. the D60 and 14B rings are normally $35...and $28 this week.

all parts will be shipped UPS ground the day after i receive payment. PM or email me for shipping prices and to check availability. you can paypal the $$ to me at matrout@juno.com. if the parts you want are not in stock, i'll still sell them to you at the sale price when i get the next batch from the laser shop, which should be less than 2 weeks from today.

if you need any custom laser or machining work done, please let me know. i have full CNC machinig, laser cutting, and some limited forming capabilities at my disposal (low overhead!) and have VERY reasonable rates!

My website is in the process of being redone and the Diff rings will be on the re-vamped site (along with A LOT of other stuff). check back every week or so to see if the new stuff is up.

thanks!
Matt

Question

Just curious if you received the PM that I sent to you this afternoon? If not, then I just need to know shipping before I send out a Paypal payment to you. I can send it anytime before 1:00 PM Colorado time. I will be leaving for Moab this weekend and won't be back until later Monday night. Keep me updated because I am still interested in the 1/2" Dana 60 ring with the holes in it. TIA, Thomas

OK, time's up...and the sale is over. back to the regular pricing.

i'm running a little low on a few diff rings, but should have more ready to ship in less than 2 weeks.

if you posted, PM'd, or emailed me before now, i'll still honor the sale prices.

to all of you who purchased rings: if you get a chance, please take some pictures of your finished diff-protection and email them to me. PM me first and i'll respond with an email address where you can send hi-resolution pictures.

many thanks go out to everyone that made this sale a success! When you guys need more stuff, let me know and i'll make you a deal!

thanks!
Matt

bah...lol

I've unfortunately been trapped into quite a few "other" projects that have kept me from the garage...my wife's new office computer gets another 4-5 hours of work tonite...

However, I did pull the cover, and get some studs in for test-fitting purposes.
A> the ring fits PERFECTLY
B> the stock studs on a rear diff will be too short....but, 8 of the 10 studs (or it is 10 of 12...eitherway) you use to attach the diff itself for a front or rear axle are the perfect length. I pulled those from a couple spare junk housings, and replaced the too-short stockers. Of the 3 nuts I test tightened, it's perfect....instead of tightening the gasket (or for me, black RTV) with the flush-to-the-diff holes in the stock cover, you are now putting pressure on the raised ridges of the cover, creating a much tighter seal.

VERY nice.

I'm experimenting on Saturday with a junk housing to see if using 7/16 coarse studs will work....test-tapped a couple holes and I believe that's a good solution.

Other option is a metric bolt to replace the studs....I would use a 35mm bolt in the correct length (1-1/4" or so)...or even 40mm. 30mm is just a tad short, but would work. From memory, threads are 10mm x 1.25, and they are available from mscdirect.com (box of too many for ~$30)

I WILL (finally) have pics on Saturday....these will do an awesome job of protecting the lip of the front diff from damage and keep it sealing tightly, and provide a sufficiently thick area to weld on custom cover protection as well.

Just to give a little product review I bought two rings from you because I got a bad habit of paying too much attention to making fun of my buddy in front or behind me while driving. This in turn leads to the occasional "Bam!" what the hell did I just hit question. I've beat those rings on the Con, Fordyce, Barrett and other places and they've held up like they were still new. Every once in a while I give them some rattle can to keep them from free from any rust and for the most part never worry about my diffs taking any damage. Thanks again it was money well spent after all I like to get to the campsite and not have to wrench on my shit if I can help it.
