heres an S9 thats going to my buddy in canada. 66" wms, forged sterling spindles, Ruffstuff 9" housing. rear trussing and disk brakes with 4340 shaft.

Can you elaborate on what exactly a "Sterling" spindle is? Is it a Sterling style spindle as found in 3/4 and 1 ton Ford trucks? Are these new units?

Edit: Looks like in the photo, there is a tube/spindle section butt welded (or maybe sleeved as well?) onto the end of your 9" housing?

afecko, im using the spindles from the sterling 10.25/10.5 rear axles out of the ford 3/4 and 1ton trucks. they are forged instead of spun and are very stout, plus they offer huge inner bearings for big loads on the bearings like racing desert and jumping/hard hit waterfalls. i take the sterling spindle and machine it, plus i also machine a locating sleeve for inside the tube as well. then i weld it up with a 1/8" 7018 rod for strength. heres a complete pic of the axle. i put all new bearings, races, seals, new rotors, calipers, pads and brackets.

Looks nice.
Yes, Sterling style bearings are much stouter than D-60-70 bearings. Though all are a lot more capable of load bearing than the typical full float set-up used by desert rigs (typically 2.25" NASCAR style bearings, set inboard of the WMS).

What is the weight of the rear axle you just posted, complete?

I have a sterling axle from an 02 Ford. Are your hubs machine to 8x6.5 or did you keep it at 8x170? How much for a rear sterling nine? I would like full width.

I can do either. I usually use the hubs from a older 10.25 which is 8on 6.5

I need more specs on what you want exactly. Gears, lockers, yokes, shafts etc
