Just picked up a 14b guard on the deal of the day on your website(great price, thank you!!!). I noticed 2 different pictures here though....one has welds on the inside and outside, and one just on the outside.

Mine is not welded on the inside. Was this a design change or did I get an unfinished piece?

There should not have been welding on the inside. I am not sure where the top picture that you got came from.

Tony,
If yours is welded all the way around on the back it is right.
Thanks
Brad

Any idea if this works on the newer 14-bolt axles (AAM 10.5)? Looking to pick one up to put on my '04 AAM 10.5 axle, but want to make sure it's going to fit first.

Nope, haven't had any major problems though. Might draw one and have them add it/cut it out.

I recently bought a pinion guard from one of the other companies on here. I was very unhappy about the design. After doing some more research I found the Barnes design. There isn't much difference as they are all basically the same, but there are several small features that I find make the Barnes guard a superior product. The finish on my Barnes guard was much better also.

Thanks for the kind words GubNi! These things definitely save the pinion Can't tell you guys how many times I would have been stuck on a trail with a busted pinion if I didn't have this lol.
