Nevada Products rips you off!
There is a company called Nevada Products Inc ( aka NPI) that sells different camera systems for various applications. http://www.nvproducts.com
I spent nearly $800 buying a "wireless" camera system for my motorhome/trailer combination. I bought their RV5.6LRW system that the sales guy claims was able to transmit something like 300 feet or more but it can't transmit a clear signal the 64' my MH/trailer combo measures. I've sent the components back numurous times to get "fixed" only to get a wireless system that now has wires and still can't do the job. Right now, we're at a stage that they don't even return my phone calls or emails and yet they have my money and the entire wireless system. In other words, I'm screwed. Here is the first email that I was smart enough to keep. This was sent July 28th, 2005. "I had purchased your wireless camera system RV5.6LRW a few months ago and have been extremely unhappy with the product. We've shipped the camera back to have it tested and at that time, your company added an external antenna and cable assembly to solve the problems we were having but the problem did not go away. After that, we sent the monitor to you to have it checked and you added another antenna and cable assembly to it as well. The system still does not work! My company has made many phone calls to you to try and resolve this problem and so far, your customer support has a lot to be desired. This system is terrible. It cannot transmit the 64' of motorhome and trailer combination without massive amounts of static. Static to the point of not being able to make out an outline of any car behind the camera. This is unacceptable especially for a system that cost me $700-$800. I can't tell you exactly what that is at this time because the invoice we received was one to another of your customers that you sent us by mistake. Please respond to this email immediatly or call the phone numbers I left on your answering machine. Again. 818-565-5945 office and 818-***-**** cell phone. Brad Kilby Kilby Enterprises" This is an email back from NPI AFTER we had to send another email asking if they'd received my system back. This email was dated Auguest 8th. "Yes we received the system. Basic tests found nothing wrong so far, however, here is what we are doing. We are going to be using 5 watt transmitters now instead of 10 milliwatt ones which will solve the problem. Please let us know exactly the cable lengths that you want. Thanks, NPI" This is another email received October 25th after we sent many more emails requesting an update. "When we moved it got lost in the shuffle. So sorry!!! Will get it back to you asap. NPI" This was the last email received from NPI. Nice huh? ASAP? I don't think they know what that means! Ha! Anyhow, I normally don't go on the 'net to spew such info but a couple of other members here suggested I do this to see what response I get. So what say you folks reading this? Would you buy from NPI at (702) 294-3159m or (800) 334-1430?? I can't believe these guys can do business with this type of product or customer service. I know that if I did, I would have been out of business a long time ago. Bastards! |

vegasjeep, thanks for the offer but let's see what happens in the next few days. NPI might see the light if they read their email and get off their a$$. If I don't hear from them, I'll send you more info. I have their physical address at the shop from when we had to ship the crap back to them.

Bummer. They may still come through, but it sounds like they don't have a clue.
If you still need a camera, www.rvcams.com. They WILL stand behind their stuff and you'll get quality for a good price. Do a search on the web for them and read the feedback. Also, go on camper forums and ask about them. Guaranteed good people.

I wish I could charge back a CC but there wasn't a CC used in this transaction. I wish there had been though. This company sucks and that's all there is to it.
crawlinjeep, it doesn't look like the folks in that link sells a wireless system. Or did I miss something? |

Nevada Products still in Business. :-(
I have sent this to Nevada's BBB
owner Jeff Nevada Products Inc. 400 Key West Court Boulder City, Nevada 89005 702-294-3159 Folks, you have Nevada Products listed as out of business. Unfortunately that is not the case. They are still doing business and misleading people. When I first contacted him for a security camera for looking forward from my dash and looking toward the rear from the outside of our RV, he quoted this: Hi John – here is what I recommend for your application: These are the best cameras with total night vision. 1ea. Standard Image Camera to view out front of vehicle. Both cameras look the same and have built in transmitters. CAMERA SPECS: Features the SONY Super HAD Chip Set - 1/3" CCD – 130 Degree Field Of View (All Quadrants) - 0 LUX Sensitivity (Up To 45 Foot Viewing Distance In Total Darkness) - 525 Lines Resolution - 12 VDC Operation - RCA Connectors - Size: 3-3/4"(W) x 2-1/4"(H) x 2-3/4"(D) - Minus 30 Degrees F To Plus 176 Degrees F. 1ea. Mirror Image Camera for rear of vehicle with audio. 1ea. 7” Monitor with audio for rear view camera to view rear view camera at all times. (No charge) 2ea. Receivers All necessary mounting hardware and cables included. Free shipping and insurance. Total price $ 545 for entire system. Call if questions, Jeff Nevada Products Inc. 702-294-3159 When I wrote to him that I couldn't afford that he sent me this: John – cost for both the front and rear system would be $ 248.00. The cost for the 7” monitor for up front will be $ 75.00 if you want it. Jeff I said that I the $75.00 was not in our budget, he reply he would send one free. What he sent was one cheap model camera that was no where near what he described for the front of our bus and nothing for the rear. He charged our credit card as soon as he got the number. Over a month ago. This has been going on for over a month with almost no return phone calls or e-mails. What e-mails he sent, where type that would give excuses, and keep a person hanging on. I have sent him this e-mail on 9-20-2011: Jeff, I think that your not able to believer as promise. Both Front and rear cameras where to be of the same high quality as we discussed, and you said yes to, in the very beginning. You were going to send a free monitor along for the rear camera. Everything was to be wireless with zero LUX. Since this has been a bit too long and I have been patient. You charged me for items not received the day you received the card numbers, I think it would be best for both of us, ether you ship what we agree upon, or refund the charge, so I can order what I need and finish my project. Jeff, it seem apparent that you can't deliver as promise. Please let me know which way you want to go. John I have not heard back from him. I would like the cameras promised and the free monitor. Thank you John Tadrzak I believe this is know as bait and switch. Capt. John Tadrzak USMM retired |
