cartune777 sold me a set of fender flares in this thread..HERE

Then a couple of weeks after that he emails me and tells me that it will cost like $120 to ship those flares. I told him to check with other shipping companies to see... That was the last communication I had with him. he won't answer emails or PM's...

tell him to wrap them up in bubble wrap and goto the post office. I had a similiar experience when I sold my snorkel. I live in WA and was shipping it to Alaska. I went to one of those "we ship it for you" places. they wanted $195 to ship it. I then went to the post office and they charged me $12.95 and that was a 3 day delivery.

Those packit shipit places are a fawking rip off. I went in to the same place, brought my receipt from the post office and made a big ass scene. I was asked to leave the store.

There was like 5 people in there, I walked upto the counter and asked "how can you charge me $195 to ship to alaska when the post office shipped it for $12.95?"

The girl said "we have to make a living too". Then I was asked to leave the store. which I did and so did 3 other people. outside the store I showed them the receipt and they all agree'd that they will never come back to this place.

my way of sticking it to the man/woman.

This guy signs up on PIRATE in April and puts 3 things up for sale. All communications are on the things he is selling. Gets you to send money and hasn't put up one post since the begining of June.

his Bro-in law just answered... I gave him a message to either send the $$ or the flares... he told me that the reason he hasn't sent them was because of shipping... I told him to bubble wrap them then tape em up good.... $30 max for shipping that way.
we'll see what happens now.

did he sound surprised on the phone??? if you talk to them again make sure to mention that because he cut off communication with you and KEPT YOUR MONEY SHIPPING OR NOT that he committed felony interstate mail fraud and you have the papers filled out, signed and in you car to take to the postal inspectors office on monday... (you could actually do this if you wanted but its fun to fire the warning shot) tell him he can either send your money or the flares (tracking number) in 48 hours or youll file the papers and they can deal with the feds....

I don't get it... You paid for the flares, but the shipping cost was an open issue?

Those shipping places do rip you, but there's some overhead involved in running around all trying to get crap to pack the flares in... Not saying that you should pay him $120, but you should pay him shipping cost plus something for a little of his time.


Regardless, if the dingleberry took your money and didn't ship - he should refund the cash immediately.
You have his name, address, and phone number:
1) File and internet fraud complaint with the http://www.ic3.gov/ - they'll provide info to local law enforcement on his end. I've had PARTICULAR luck with the MI state police.. :-)
2) File a fraud complaint with the USPS.. Felony to take cash over the postal mail service.
