![]() ![]() ![]() Barnes 4wd Jeep Skid Plates are made to protect the belly of your Jeep and give you a smooth surface to slide on. We offer our Skid plates in three different configurations of 0”, 2” and 3” drops so you can find the one best for your rig. Each Skid plate has a 1.5” lip on the front and back of the skid to add rigidity and prevent the skid plate from digging into obstacles. These skids do not have predrilled holes for the transfer case so you are free to use any transmission and transfer case that you wish. Our skid plates are Laser cut from ¼” A50 Steel Plate and made in the USA. https://barnes4wd.com/Jeep-Skid-Plates_c_50.html $120 each!

I'll have to wait until I clock my 300 to see how far I can clear, but afterwards I will be ordering.

I was looking on the website this morning at these and they are listed as 0", 2" and 3" drops until you open the product page and they are listed as 0", 1" and 3" drops. So is which one is it?

Where were you guys with this product while I still had my CJ7 ?
![]() My much modified and mangled stock plate was in desperate need of replacement and I couldn't find anything worth a damn and now you have a nice looking product after I parted it out.

Too bad Gary. You abandoned your CJ7. But I might be looking at one for me just as soon as I make the final decision and pull the trigger on an Atlas.

Just curious, What is the weight of your skid plate (say 2" drop) as compared to a stock unit on a wrangler?
Any possibility of adding a few cutouts to reduce weight? Thanks BTW: I already purchased your rear 4-link kit and I am impressed. Last edited by DIRTCREW3; 05-24-2012 at 09:23 AM. |

I do not know what that a stock skid plate weighs but the 2" drop plate will weight 60lbs. You could make cutouts as you see fit if you like.
Thanks Brad

That it is, I received my 2" drop skid on monday and was impressed. It's beefcake, shipping label said it weighed in at 57 lbs. I thought about fabing up my own but for the price it's not even worth messing with.

I got around to installing this a few days ago. Even with as large as the mounting holes are, I had to take a little out of the inside of the four rear holes to get the bolts to go in straight. The front two bolts went in without an issue, but were touching the inside of the mounting holes on both sides. It's still a great piece and I would still definitely buy it again, just wanted to throw some info on the install your guys way.

What's shipping run? I have to put the clocked 205 in the YJ, then see which I can fit. Out of curiousity, "IF" someone needed a 1", would you sell it?

I'll have some in a couple of days as long as it stops raining and I can get it outside for paint. Meant to get it on this weekend, but problems with other stuff in my build kept that from getting done. Mine is a two inch drop.
