Va bene sempre, Carrera Occhiali

abbigliamento sportivo disegnati proprio per l'evento. Ovviamente poi,
quello che può essere anche un bell'abito verrà irrimediabilmente
compromesso da un paio di occhiali da sole eccessivamente grandi. Questi
straordinari cavallo bit disegni braccialetto sono come nulla che ho

I bought the Storm King in '05 because I wanted a tent that can handle the harshest Winter I would dare to camp in. I have since used it about a dozen or so times in all four seasons.
One of the many reasons why I love this tent is because of its ability to withstand near-hurricane winds and not having any flapping noises usually associated with it. Properly staked, there is no flapping of any part of the tent.
There are tons of interior pockets plus a net shelf on the ceiling where the vent is.
Two well-versed, motivated people can set up the tent (Including the fly) in about five minutes.
There is plenty of sitting room for 5 people, meaning the walls and ceiling are near vertical and high. Plenty of vent/windows as well.
The only draw back I can think of (Other than the price) is its weight-14lbs
. But this tent is designed to withstand 70+ MPH winds and deal with heavy, heavy snowfall. In addition, this tent is more of a base camp tent rather than a back pack tent.
There are absolutely no mountains in any of the 50 states that this tent can't handle. Period.Posted 08-29-2009 at 01:58 PM by CDA 455

La Sportiva Glacier Evo Mountaineering Boots
From their website:
Quote:GLACIER EVO
Leather mountaineering/backpacking boot
The EVO has a half steel shank for an easier flex and a quicker break-in period. The Reactive Spoiler System ankle piece makes it an extremely comfortable boot for wearing with a pack and walking down hill. We added extra protection on the upper with a huge sticky rubber rand over the ankle area and a rubber toe rand. This boot is an excellent heavy backpacking alternative for people looking for LOTS of support.
WEIGHT: 33.58 oz • 952 g
LAST: Makalu
CONSTRUCTION: Board Lasted
UPPER: 2.8mm Idro-Perwanger Roughout Leather/ Vibram® rubber rand/ removable EZ Flex tongue with Dry-Best® lining
LINING: Dry-Best® INSOLE: 8mm MtnFlex with half steel shank
MIDSOLE: PU Aircushion
SOLE: Vibram® Ice-New
I got these for Christmas ('08) and have used them many times since.
I have very wide feet and these are a Spanish-made boots so I had to compromise on shoe size. I ended up getting a size 47 (Euro; 14 U.S.).
The fit is very firm as expected from an expedition boot. Because I compromised and got a boot based on width fit, my heel floats a little bit even when laced tightly. I remedied this by taking one of my trusted REI rag-wool knee-high socks and cut the foot out and wore the leg part of the sock (Over the main sock) to bulk up the ankle area.
Break-in time was very short; About ten days. At first very, very stiff but after the second day it felt more flexible.
The stability and support is right on par. Even loosely-laced, the Glacier Evo supported my ankle very well.
During my first snow camp out I learned an important lesson: Don't lace your boots up as tightly as you would during the three other seasons!
By lacing my boots tight (As usual) I cut down the blood circulation causing my feet to start to hurt tremendously because my feet started getting cold
!! I eventually had to stick my feet next to a fire for about a half an hour to rewarm them.
IMO, the only down side to the boot is a pair of webbing lace hoops that are offset back towards the ankle area. I can see this as a weak point because the webbing will wear out long before the metal hoops.
Overall these boots work as I expect them to work: Great support, great traction, great cushion.Posted 08-06-2009 at 03:27 AM by CDA 455

Arc'teryx Alpha SV Bib
Since I hate having to pull up my pants all the time when I work or play (As opposed to lounging or casual walking) I started where bibs (Carhartt) at work (ER).
So when I searched for a waterproof/windproof/hardshell pants, it had to be a bib.
The one I finally chose was the Arc'teryx Alpha SV Bib.
This bib has so many features I don't know where to begin!
Taken from their website:
628 g / 1 lb 6.2 oz
Athletic fit
• 480N GORE-TEX® Pro Shell 3L
• Waterproof
• Breathable
• Two pleated bib pockets with laminated zippers
• Two internal chest pockets
Side zippers stop below harness/ hip area
• WaterTight™ through-the-crotch zip
• WaterTight™ 3/4 length leg zippers
• Laminated waist drawcord
• Keprotec™ instep patches provide superior protection against damage by boots, crampons and ski edges.
• High-cut breathable stretch-woven bib
• Quick adjust suspenders
• Removable molded EVA foam kneepads with laminated mesh pockets
I've used the bib several times and without a doubt worked perfectly!
On one occasion we were camping in a very windy area with the temp. in the low-teens. Other than the feel of the wind flapping the bib, I didn't feel any colder what-so-ever.
There are four pockets (Two inside, two outside). I kept AA batteries and power Bars in the inside pockets and keys, coins, and fifty feet of 550 paracord in the outside pockets.
At the base of each pant leg there are stainless steel eyelets on each side of the pant leg for attaching cord (like a gaiter) under the boot. Also, there is an internal drawcord at the leg cuff that work like blousing straps.
The bib has an 'Athletic fit' style cut/fit. Which means they're made to fit close to the body. I bought a size large and noticed that my gut made it fit a little tight around the midsection
. I'm going to shave at least twenty pounds by late Fall ('09) so I fit better in them
.
Without a doubt this bib is the Ferrari of the Winter clothes world. Along with wearing VB pants (Which I will be getting soon) I am very much set up to handle just about ANY Winter weather I would come up against in the lower 48!Posted 07-18-2009 at 02:13 AM by CDA 455

RBH Designs VaprThrm Skull Cap
I bought the skull cap in late Winter and used it a few times.
Just like the VB socks; The VaprThrm Skull Cap kept my head very warm!
With the exceptionally dry Winters up here in ID, VB is great because they trap moisture as well as body heat. So my skin stays moist as well.
The secret to Vapor Barrier clothing is in the fine tuning. Since VB trap heat and moisture, you know right when you start sweating and heating up. As you heat up, open zippers to vent. Unzip maybe half way, or maybe 3/4 of the way. The point is to vent enough so that you find that sweet-spot where you're neither too cold or too hot.
Since up to half of ones body heat escapes through the neck and head, I would keep the skull cap on all the time in Winter. The blood vessels in the head and neck do not contract like in other parts of the body. So blood flowing near the surface of the skin loses heat. With the skull cap the heat is trapped therefore the blood stays warm. Which also warms the rest of the body!Posted 07-16-2009 at 08:12 AM by CDA 455

RBHDesigns VaprThrm® - Hi-Rise Insulated Sock
Since I have began my quest for more Winter/snow camping this year, I wanted to make sure I had the best/safest equipment my money can buy.
I started researching serious Winter/snow camping and discovered a concept called vapor barrier clothing. It's basically clothing made of material that does not breathe. The heat and moisture your body makes does not escape. If you get too warm, you vent via zippers. When you get cold, you zip up.
From Verber.com:
So VB clothing does two things:Quote:In extremely cold, dry conditions, vapor barriers can be part of an effective clothing system. According to the book Secrets of Warmth by Hal Wiess, the human body gives off moisture for three reasons: (1) as a fear response, (2) as sweat to cool us down when overheating, (3) to maintain adequate humidity (~79%?) for the skin. There is some debate in the backpacking community as to whether the “insensible perspiration” (aka transepidermal water loss) is directly related to keeping the skin at a fixed humidity... but there should be no question that the micro climate near the skin effects rate of transepidermal water loss.
1) Keeps you warm.
2) Keeps you hydrated (Because you sweat less from the heat/moisture being trapped next to the body by the VB).
I purchased a pair of RBHDesigns vapor barrier socks and immediately found them very comfortable and they really kept my feet warm in 13* windy Winter weather
!!
I am totally sold on the VB clothing/concept!

Outdoor Research Expedition Gaiters
Got these for Christmas.
I originally ordered a set of XL's as per their boot size chart. Found out they run big so I reordered a set of L's and they fit better.
Regarding fit: I have 18 inch calves, which are about 4 inches bigger than 90+% of the rest of the male population. So while wearing Carhartt Men's Extremes® Arctic Quilt-Lined Bib and medium weight wool long underpants; It was somewhat difficult to properly put on the gaiters.
After getting them on, for the most part, they stayed put. The only thing was they started to slip down after awhile but only because the bib legs started riding up thereby pushing the gaiters down. Also, my calves didn't help either (The gaiters acted like crew socks with my calves; they were fighting against gravity and the flare of the lower part of my calves).
Again, everything mentioned can easily be alleviated (thinner bib, etc).
They kept everything they covered warm and they're built very sturdy.
I am totally satisfied with them!Posted 01-03-2009 at 07:14 PM by CDA 455

The North Face Big Blue Kazoo 20* Sleeping Bag
I bought this back in 2000 or 2001.
It's the big version of their Blue Kazoo down sleeping bag .
It will sleep a person 6'-6". I bought it because it's wider as well.
I've used it many times over the years and found it to be very comfortable in keeping me warm, as well as having a shoulder girth of about 70" (As apposed to 62").
Because I'm a lefty, I chose a left-sided zipper that works flawlessly.Posted 12-19-2008 at 12:45 PM by CDA 455
