Some ideas

Posted 08-11-2009 at 07:23 PM by JayH (My garage)

I decided not to let the belly pan rest any lower than the frame rails. Two things will need to be moved somehow then: 1) The exhaust. The muffler hangs well below the frame rails as does some of the exhaust pipe on either side of it. 2) The transfer case.

I already took the air tank out from underneath and will relocate it or simply delete it from the system.

As for the exhaust, I figure there are two options. First cut the floor above it and move the pipe and muffler...

An un-productive night in the garage

Posted 08-10-2009 at 10:04 PM by JayH (My garage)

I had the night off tonight - wife was out for a business dinner for three - four hours. So I head out to the garage to do one of the myriad of things I've said I want to do to the Jeep and got absolutlely nothing accomplished.

I'm looking to remount my Zena welder power supply - essentially a small case alternator. When I added the coilover hoops, I took the space that it used to be in to the right of the stock alternator. I've found another space where it will fit - to the left...

Black Bear Pass

Posted 08-01-2009 at 08:10 PM by ItsaCJ6

Last weekend was the the Telluride Rotary 4x4 tour.

I got to run advance lead on the first run up Black Bear Pass backwards. Up hill from Telluride if verboten the rest of the year as the there is no passing on this trail. This year I drove a full width YJ and it was tight but reasonable on the trails. We saw two moose at the top of the waterfall. It was an awesome trip Thad in the Hulk and Steve in the Barney TJ also ran up with me... Kodos to all, it was a great trip.
