I don't want to jinx it

All my life things haven't gone quite right. In fact, what I consider normal most would consider bad. Just about the time things start to go well, something happens and it all goes to shit. could it be karma, or am I subconsciously fucking myself? I don't know. It's easy to blame someone else, or to blame an abstract concept, but hard to look within yourself and find the problem. Even harder is to fix the problem, since you have lived it so long it is second nature to keep doing it.
Anyway, I got word from a friend who has a really good job, that his employer was hiring. I turned in a resume, took entry test, passed the interview, passed the drug screen and physical, and yet I am still hesitant to tell people I have the job. I'm afraid I'll jinx it, and lose it to someone else.
Strangely, there is a part of me that wants to turn and walk away from it, and continue to lead the lonely boring life I have been. I don't know why, maybe I like misery.

Just my opinion (take it or leave it) but you seem to have the prey more than preditor mentality. Try telling yourself through out the day that you are the preditor. Seek out and find problems and face them head on with everything you have. If you just put a DIY four link under your rig you would go out and put it through the paces and stress the hell out of it to make sure it would hold up right? Preditor! Preditor! Preditor!Posted 02-08-2009 at 10:04 AM by Crusty1
