ARR hood louver panels! JK, TJ, YJ, XJ, CJ, EB, yota, etc
We have made these for a few years now, and haven't really advertised them. Time to ramp it up! We have lots of these in boxes ready to go. Call 303-400-0205, email mail@americanrockrods.com, or PM me to order. Make sure to tell us you saw this post at the time of order, and we will knock $10 off the website price for Jeep applications.
While these look awesome, they were designed to help keep your engine bay cooler. Made in house by us in our Denver, CO fab shop, they are CNC cut out of 0.063 aluminum and we use an actual old school louver punch to punch the louvers. Available raw or powdercoated. Standard colors are 40% semigloss black or gunmetal grey, but we can custom order anything. Give us a color code, we will make it happen. The standard colors range from $12-$30 depending on the panel. Custom colors will depend on what we are charged. Raw finish is sanded with 80 grit before it is punched unless you request it to be unsanded. Most vehicles have two designs. With, or without flames. Currently available for CJ, XJ, YJ, TJ, and JK. We also make them for the Polaris RZR(all years) and we make universal panels. Toyota and Early Bronco are coming soon. Custom requests are available. Shock hoop panels are a popular custom part(see the red YJ below). Each kit includes all the hardware, nylon washers, instructions to cut the OEM hood, etc. Prices range from $50 to $148 for a raw panel, depending on application. If you need a custom panel, either for a unique application, or a standard panel with a different layout, let us know! See our website for full technical details, other versions I didn't post here, and pricing info: http://www.americanrockrods.com/hood_louver_kits.php

How do we order these? I didn't see an option to do that on your website.
Also, do ou lose any louvers by going to the "Flame" design vs. the Std. design. Let me know. Thanks!!

And yes, some of the flame designs have less louvers than the standard design for that model. Specifically the TJ and YJ setups.

If you know anyone in Denver with one, have them call us and we can prototype it.
Unfortunately I don't know anyone with a Ranger.

Jadecloud has ZERO to do with American Rock Rods. I contacted the mods to get that post removed, but it has not been removed.
Please contact us directly, and keep in mind this account is the only ARR account.

Will the unsanded aluminum hold up better?
I have other aluminum armor on and would like to match that up with these....

Good for you! Why would you post this? If you don't like them or need them then shut up and move on...
Not everyone runs stock engines in TJ's! Some people with stock engines might also understand the value of running a bit cooler on a hot day on a slow trail.

Ok. Then you would have no need to purchase one, other than the aesthetic value. Quote:
As for why they are needed? They have two benefits. One, no need to defrost the windshield. This may help a comp buggy with no defroster, however that is a limited reason. Mainly? They reduce underhood temps. The majority of our customers fit into one of two categories: Those with engine swaps, and those who live in extremely hot climates. Hemi JK's, LSx JK's, supercharged 4.0l TJ's, etc. So far, I think *every* JK2 panel we have sold has gone to customers in Australia. And I know for a fact that several of those customers were having overheating issues that were resolved once the panels were properly installed. They obviously will not appeal to everyone, nor were they designed to. But for those who can use lower underhood temperatures, these are an aesthetically pleasing AND functional part.

Of course. We have most things in stock right now, but if we don't have it I can make it almost on the fly. Just call ahead and let us know.
FYI our physical location will be closed Feb 1-11 for KOH. We will still be processing orders, as well as replying to emails and PM's during this time.

Have you found any pics of the bare aluminum yet? Still interested in one with flames for a TJ...

I'm interested in the XJ ones. I just have a couple questions.
1. Can the panels be made to replace the 2 "raised" sections of the hood and cover the entire length (front to back) of the hood? 2. Can the above be made in the flame design? I hope I'm clear on that, I can get measurements if needed. Thanks. |
