RockstarFab Jeep Tub Sliders

I am starting to sell products from RockstarFab, a small fabrication shop in Great Bend, KS. Big Jim is the owner/operator and does some awesome work. These tub sliders are a compilation of ideas Big Jim and I had... We took these out to Cathouse Ranch and Jim flopped his YJ on it's side in a ravine and drove out with only a scuff mark on the paint of the tub slider--same spot that another Jeep caved the side of his tub in. These mount just infront of the corner seam at the rear and toward the top of the tub. They will save your tub from getting pinched. I actually have used them as a step to hop into the back of the Jeep. They are very sturdy. Tubsliders for your Jeep CJ-7/YJ and can make them in any size you want. We even did a set for a scrambler! They are made from 1.75 HREW round tubing. The tubing is welded to 3/16 flat steel plate which measures 30 1/2 inches long. There is also a 3/16 flat steel plate that goes inside of your tub to make the tub slider strong and durable. The bolts are welded so you only need one hand to instal them once the holes are drilled. These could even be tied into a cage if you wanted to. PM for price

EDIT: here's a pic installed on a customer's rig.

That is a pretty sweet and fresh idea. You should see if they can make some that wrap around the flare about 3/4 of the way.

Big Jim is workin on some new designs as we speak. The problem with it wrapping around is the plate that sandwiches the sheetmetal behind the slider spreads the load evenly and that's where you gain your strength.. if you have it go around the edge without a tie-in then you get leverage(think torque wrench) against the tub which may cause damage with a hard impact.. SOOO Jim said he's been trying to come up with a mount/brace for something that wraps around the corner that will maintain strength.

They come in raw to keep costs down and because everyone wants something different for finish (rattle can, bedliner, powder coat, automotive paint)...

Have Ya'll done any for the L J bodies? Between the upper right corner of the flair and top body rail seems to be a sweet spot for impacts. Thanks

Have not done any for them, and the only thing I would be worried about is the gas tank filler neck on the driver's side. That's the problem we have with TJ's also. We can make one that would go in front of that filler no problem, but I don't know that there is room to mount the slider above the plastic for the filler. If there's over 2 inches between the gas filler and the body crease we can do it for the full length. If not, the driver's side would need to be smaller than the passenger side. Give me a PM, I can have you send me some measurements and see what we can do.

Hmmm, not gonna get 2 inches on the drivers side. Gonna have to rethink my plan.

I'll keep an eye out for an LJ. I'm wondering if there is maybe a way to cut the plastic a bit and keep it looking clean? OR.. maybe we could leave a section of the supporting strap out on the driver's side slider.. then just have a kicker in between and still have that sandwich piece on the other side so it'll all have even support. I'll give Big Jim a call to see if it's feasable, he's the fab-man. I'm up for new ideas...
