Universal Spare Tire Mount Plate
Universal Spare Tire Mount Plate is meant to be welded to tire carriers or buggies. This plate allows the use of stock Jeep wheel studs to be used for 5x4.5, 5.5x5.5, 6x5.5, 8x6.5 lug patterns. This is great because it can accommodate common lug patterns of spare tires in the event of an axle swap, etc.

Do not buy from Copperhead Fabrication
I had an extremely poor experience with Copperhead Fabrication on multiple levels. First, the only reason I went with them is because I Googled universal tire carrier plate and this thread popped up. It seemed like a cheap price for a decent product.
Well, when I got the tire carrier plate it was cheap all right. It was cut out on a plasma table that provided a very poor cut. Ever single hole has an extreme bevel to it as well as the outside. I didn't really care about the look as much, but I wanted to use press in wheel studs. Its impossible to use the press in wheel studs with this plate because ever single hole diameter is different with a huge bevel to it. So I called up Copperhead Fabrication and talked to one of the owners. I was very nice and polite and simply requested a refund due to the poor quality of the part and that I couldn't use press in wheel studs. Right of the bat the guy was a huge jerk to me and actually started badgering me about my knowledge and the part! He kept trying to tell me that everyone welds their wheel studs into the plate and I should do the same. He then told me how great his plasma table was, that he could cut 100" per minute. Well...it doesn't matter how fast you can cut if you're cutting crap. They obviously have a poor system or he's cutting them to fast. The phone call lasted for about 20 minutes, most of the time this was him badgering me and telling me why I was wrong about the tire carrier plate. The fact remains that its extremely poor quality and their customer service is even worse! I ended up having to hang up on the guy as he wouldn't stop badgering me and refused to refund my money... I even offered to pay for the shipping. How do people like this stay in business?! I've never had another experience that's been anywhere near as bad as this one. I just wanted to warn everybody about how bad this company is. I would do yourself a favor and pay a little bit more for a quality product and a good company to do business with. I ended up buying a universal tire carrier plate from a company that laser cuts them and doesn't badger their customers like their worthless. |
