1st Gen 4runner rear corner panel protection

Addicted Offroad is now offering our "Straight Jacket" rear corner panel protection for 1st Generation 4runners(patent pending). Other models to come shortly as well!

These panels are made from 3/16" cold roll steel and are press bent to conform to the body as tightly as possible. Each panel will be drilled and countersunk for 8-1/4" allen head bolts. Powder coating is also available at additional cost. The lower end folds under to the pinch weld to add strength and protection. For those of you who don't want to bob your 4runner, but don't want it beat to hell either, this is the product for you! Or, for those that want to Bob your rig, and want to minimize body work, just cut them down to suit and be done with it!

We are offering an introductory price of $225/set for unfinished steel. Powder coating available as well.

These panels will be in full production within the next 2-3 weeks.

We should have these installed on a rig later this week, and I will update with better pics as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, that is a very expensive mod. It requires a stamping press, unless its welded on and would add a lot more expense to it. We will definitely consider in the future, but for now, its not in the cards. A die like that would run around $20K to have built.

Jeeps use a flat, simple 6" radius die for the bend. Its a simple, brainless setup. However, a die like this literally runs around $20k though:

That is a full wrap around panel for an Early Bronco. They only run $400/set.

Chuck had 100 customers give him a $200 deposit on a set of panels to be able to afford to build said panel. Then when the panels were done, they paid another $100/ea for them. Only the first 100 got that price. Everyone else paid $400/set.

Well, here are the corner panel protection mounted on a rig at the shop. The black on white is mainly for contrast. We can powdercoat for many different colors. These are a Hammered tone gloss black.

Okay, we are ready for full production on these. But, we want to get a few orders in to ensure our return on these.

$249/pr and they should be ready to ship next week. Get your orders in now!

Great product idea! It's a shame that cost prohibits making wrap around models.

the final product looks great. any pics of one that has been banged up and scraped? it seams like the panel would stay streight and just bend the sheet metal around it?

We have taken a dead blow hammer to it and I have kicked straight on with ZERO damage.

These panels look kick ass and I would love a set. My only concern is most of the major trail carnage I've encountered has always been to the corners. Sure they would be great to slide on but once that rock gets passed the panels it takes out your corners and lights. I'd hate to drop my hard earned cash on a set, slap 'em on, and crush the hell out of my corners. You take Visa?

I know, but there is no real way to do it without a major stamping press and very expensive die. I would expect that to run between $15k-20K to make and then it would add to the cost extensively.

ANYWAY TO MAKE seperate corners and let the customer weld them up?
maybe tou can have them made as a cast, should be way cheaper to do then a press (only the corners)
maybe without the pesky tail lights so it's solid and new lights can be mounted in the gate
when are you making 90+ 4 runners?

Not sure yet on the 90+ 4runners. Right now we're gonna stick with the design we have, but with more rounded corners to take away the box-like look.

Each edge will have a slightly smoother line to it than below.

These would not be so great for people who have winters with snow. condensation and or salt gets in between and its the end. Rust Cancer.

Silicone does wonders. They wouldn't be any different than Jeep rocker panels in that respect either.
