Got a good question about these today, the question was just what are these for?

Here was my answer: They are made to reinforce holes without using a large piece of metal. Just the area around the hole is reinforced, keeping it light while preventing having the holes oval or tear out. Not a bad question.

Here are the 2 new sizes, 3 more coming. These have a 7/8" outer diameter on the minor surface (the part the goes in the hole) and either a 3/4" or 5/8" bore...

They are made so they can go completely within the hole that was ruined. The go in 1/4" so if your piece to be repaired in thinner just grind them down after welding. The exterior portion is 3/16" so you are adding a 7/16" solid reinforcement. They do not HAVE to be used AFTER you have a problem, think preventative maintenence! They are available in sets of 5 for $15, thanks...

These are the kind of thing you might think someone that owns a Turning center could do for less but they aren't? Its simply the wrong tool for the job. You can own all kinds of tools to do a job but the RIGHT tool will do the job better for less

Thats exactly how we can price our products lower than the other guy, the right tool for the job & the right person operating the tool. We pay well for quality machine work, we are not bargain hunters but if the right tool is doing the work you do get a fair price due to the time saved
