X Chassis Fiberglass Rock Crawler Hoods

These hoods are designed specifically for the Hendrix Motorsports X Chassis. However, they can easily be adapted to any tube chassis. They have been made slightly oversized and tall to allow for a universal fit and can be trimmed down to suit your needs. The sides and front taper outward to accomodate those that like the "over the tube" look and can be trimmed to fit for those that prefer the "on top of the tube" look with a lower profile. The added height helps to accomodate those that need to clear tall air cleaners and/or shock mount designs.

They are made with high grade resins as well as Core Mat in conjunction with fiberglass to produce a lightweight, durable, and semi flexible hood. The last photo is a close up of the underside. This is the special cellulose mat used in conjunction with high performance resins which allows for a stronger, lighter product. Resists cracking and fractures from heat, vibration, etc much better than typical fiberglass most commonly used.

Being semi flexible allows the hood to be raised up another 1.5" at the rear for added height for those that may need it. There are no specific accomodations for hood mounting as there are so many custom setups. This is left to the fabricator. The hood shown is on a shortened X Chassis which gives it a longer appearance.

Where it bends inward from the widest point towards the front is in a different place. A few inches difference. Also, the front is narrower on an FToy by about an inch.

An X Chassis hood hoop is about 42" long, the FToy is about 45.5" long. The overall widths are the same, 53.5".

It is a little different and I've never fit one on an FToy. I Suppose if someone wasn't hell bent on a nice fit, they might be able to fit it. I don't know though.

Trimmed for a lower profile and on top of the tube.

Being on top of the tube and trimmed this way prevents shredding the hood sides when dragging the hood hoop across the rocks.
