Bluenoser in BC...
HI all, just registered, I'm from NS but posted to BC.
I'm a Flight Engineer flying the CH149 Cormorant SAR Helo. Was in 413 now posted to 442. I've got an old 89 chev ext cab long box that'll be making the journey from NS to BC in the fall. She's currently stock (suspension wise), but I have some plans for a long (er) travel IFS in the works. Major hurdle right now seems to be the inner tripod joint and it's limited amount of travel (around 16 degrees) before binding and exploding. I've got a few plans on how to deal with it but it's only in the theory stages right now. She'll never be a serious mud or rock crawler (it's an ext cab longbox ferchristsakes) as it's "a driver" and needs to be able to plow my 400 ft driveway in NS winters. I'm just looking to see how much I can get out of her and make a slightly more capable off roader. Trail running, a littel bit of mud fun, light crawling and towing more "capable" rigs is all she'll ever see. Got a few plans for a 74 Scout II for more serious trail running but that'll probably sit idel until I retire, when I'll have time for the build and also restore the 62 tbird I've got tucked away in the garage... Been wheelin' and wrenching on cars and truck before I was able to drive (legally). Last edited by great white; 02-01-2009 at 11:15 AM. |
