Langley, BC, Canada, November 21, 2009: Chris Pook of Langley, BC, Canada chosen to be the Canadian International Entry for the 2010 Griffin King of the Hammers.

“Its an opportunity of a life time” Chris Pook stated “Dave Cole and Jeff Knoll have put together the ultimate race, I’m very excited about being part of it.” “We’ve built a new car for 2010 that I hope will be a true do it all rock crawler. From competitive rock crawling and desert racing, to trail wheeling with my family and friends on North America’s most extreme trails” The King of Hammers race will give him a chance to prove its capabilities.

Chris Pook will be driver of record for the brand new #4477 car. The new buggy has been built on a modified S&N-Fab Bravo2 chassis, running Bilstein Shock Absorbers, Superior Axles machined by Branik Motorsports, and Longfield Super Axles 300m U- Joints.

Big Country Customs of Abbotsford, BC, Canada has once again stepped up to support Chris Pook and his off road adventures in the 2010 season. BCC’s owner Taran Halarewich said “ We’re proud to have been part of Chris’s race efforts since the beginning and to have him chosen to represent Canada at this years King of Hammer’s confirms we’ve made the right decision.”

Hammerking Productions, Inc. created the “King of the Hammers” off-road race in 2007 (www.kingofthehammers.com) and released its first full-length film in 2008. The 2010 Griffin King of the Hammers will be held on Friday February 12th, 2010 where over 15,000 drivers and fans from around the globe will descend on the desert of Johnson Valley for over a week of off-road related activities. The 2009 running of the King of the Hammers was featured on Spike TV and in the film “Second Crusade.” In 2009, Hammerking expanded race action to include three additional regional qualifiers for the 2010 race. How does one get named "the" Canadian entrant? Is he the only Canuck down for it? I know of at least one other Canadian team that's down there for it - maybe not as high a profile team?

They had a spot reserved for someone from each of a few different countries. I believe it was a lottery.
