Randy's Ring And Pinion wont ship to US Parcel drops
Just an FYI for Canucks looking for good deals.
I order most of my parts from the US and ship them to Pt. Roberts near Vancouver. I've ordered from Randy's before (a couple of months ago in fact for my 14 bolt) and since they're in Washinton my parts were here the next day. I tried to order parts to start my front 60 and now (as of two months ago) they'll only ship to the address listed on your credit card, so they wouldn't take my order. Its too bad, because I was really happy with the price and service and I'm already on their books as a valid customer. ![]() I ordered from diffsonly.com who drop ships from Randy's anyhow, so the same order is going to cost me $150 more by the time it hits my door. |

That's due to fraud artists using stolen credit card numbers or their own, then claiming the billing was fraud so Randy's gets screwed (I live less than 10 miles from them)

i have never had an issue just getting it shipped to my door. most of the smaller stuff just showed up with only the scam UPS brokeradge fees but no duty or tax. i guess an axle might not slip past. US vendors seem to be a bit leary of out of country billing with state side shipping. they are concerned we will try to skip out on the duty and taxes and they will be held liable i suppose.

It really is to bad we can't get some of this stuff made in Canada and sent to our door with out duty, brokerage fees and all the other crap were punished with for living here. I dont even bother pricing parts at home (NB) anymore. Its hard to believe its actually cheaper to buy stuff online from California and get it sent to the east coast then it is to buy from local shops, but I figure I save at least 30% doing it this way.

nature of doing business i suppose. the CDN stores have to pay for taxes and duty then add the extra % (they have to make money too) we can sometimes get it accoss wihtout the tax and duty. i think the other problem is competition. no need to have a 10% profit when your the only game in town. go for the 25%

If the government didn't chase off all the businesses that manufacture goods, there would be cheaper parts in Canada. Same thing is happening here in the US though. The EPA has chased off all metal foundries in the US by fining them to death. (In some cases it was needed, but they are now Superfund pollution sites)
Same goes for machine shops. Corporate NAPA has dumped all their shops. Only individual owned shops are still around.

You can skip the UPS brokerage if you live near an international air port or some where there is a customs brokerage office I think it's called.
here is a few good links for you guys, btw UPS HATES when you do this. http://tip.frikafrax.com/2009/11-112...t-use-ups.html http://www.davidgrant.ca/avoid_ups_plague

The only reason I'll ship to Canada, is because this is Pirate and I have faith that if anyone screws me over, Pirate will bring on the wrath ![]() All of my Canadian orders ship via USPS. With USPS the duties and taxes can't come back on me. AND there is no UPS brokerage fees! With UPS it's just merely a suggestion for you to pay the taxes/duties/fees. The shipper is ultimately responsible for them.
