just to confirm a gas SM467 will bolt to a 6.2?

My friend has a 85 K10 with a tired 305 and sm465 and i have a good 6.2 that i'll give him.

So just to confirm we just need to get the diesel flywheel (diesel was auto) and its a bolt together

Thx

also side question, a friend has a flywheel from a 6.5 but all 6.5s had the 5 speed so will that flywheel work with the 6.2 and 4 speed

thx

flywheel will work, trans will work. Have to find a diesel bellhousing or grind out where the starter goes not enough room in a gas version for the nose of the diesel starter.

Both of my gas hydro bellhousings bolted up to my 6.2 without grinding anything....perhaps the older mechanical clutch ones need a little clearancing, although they look the same in the starter area to me too.I don't see why gm would make two bellhousings that are identical except for a little extra starter clearance, but the 6.2 didn't come out until 1982 so maybe the problem is only with those made from '81 back.I'll have to compare one from the 70s next time I find one to look at.
