Eliminate the spring in the kingpin not sure who makes the kit. I know how to search too, I don't want to build an insane front axle with the newest tech just want a dependable, economical, setup. |

Replace ALL the seals...upper and lower kingpin, inner axle, wheel seals, etc...EVERYTHING. They're old and worn, and critical.
Bearings, races, kingpins if they're shot...but at LEAST replace the kingpin bushings and springs (or go springless). You can buy new, factory spicer 35spline outters for $170 shipped (pair)...then resell your stockers for $30-40 each. Quite a strength upgrade...well worth it, in my opinion...especially if you already have 'em torn down to replace joints. Best manual hubs are the factory spicers...which can also be broached to 35spline for $80-100...otherwise just hit the classifieds here for a used $40 set of oem warn-made units. |
