is the bolt pattern the same? i think i remember that the 70's are 5x5 and i think mine is the 5x5.5"....is that correct? or is mine 5x5 as well? it's tough to measure without pulling the wheel, which i don't feel like doing...thanks

I don't know of Chevy useing 5x5.5" on anything.
But then, I thought all Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4's were 6 lug, so what do I know.

Your 85 has either a 3r series Saginaw joint (auto tranny) or a 1350 series joint (granny 4 speed). The 12 bolt has a 1310 series joint. There are conversion u joints from Spicer and NAPA (don't buy the NAPA ones, their needle bearings are junk).
