My New Rig

I used to own a Scout that I blended with Jeep and Chevy parts. However, it was so beat up (frame cracks and twisted frame) it was time for it to go. So, I cut the Scout up and traded the 350 for a 76 Chevy pickup. I then took the 76, my 82 2wd Chevy PU, my 87 Chevy Suburban and parts from my Scout to build this beast.

Here's what was done:
Frame shortened 21 inches
Long bed from '82 shortened 21 inches
6.2 diesel with banks kit
TH 400 tranny with the stock tcase from the Suburban (can't remember what it is)
Home made approx 6" lift (rear shackle flip and 52" springs up front)
37" Humvee tires
3/4 ton running gear from 'Burb 14 and 10 bolt

I will do:
Front 60 from Scout when I get locker and different gears
Rear 14 bolt FF from Scout when I get locker and gears (both by summer)
SM 465 with 203/205 doubler when I swap in 60 and 14 bolt
Step side bed from local yard (need money first ;) )
Recentered Humvee beadlocks
Cage

Anyway, this thing is a climbing monster. I am more than pleasantly surprised this thing climbs like a mule. It actually grabs better on loose dirt and mud than my Scout did even though my Scout had gearing and such. I credit the diesel over the 350 and the weight of the pickup.

So, I guess this makes me a Chevy guy now :flipoff2:
