I have a 73 1 ton k5 with ord shackle reversal I have about 4.5" and cut out fenders I clear 42" no problem I found a good deal on some 44" boggers . I mostly wheel in snow and mud but also do some rockcrawling in the summer. So just wanted to get some opinions on putting 44" boggers with stock H1 double beadlocks just worried about the 7" backspace also have a set of 16.5 x 9.75 black steel rims i could get some weld on rings for just low on money and need new big tires.I still only have 4.10 welded rear open front with hydro assist.
going to 5.13s soon
was thinking of running spacers
people run these on h1 rims all the time i guess
on a tight budget cant afford stazworks 12" rims lol
just want some big tires for cheap im dying to go to the snow
I have no power issues with 42" tsls
There is a huge difference in traction between boggers and tsls.
I say go for them, and use which ever wheel fits best. you would probly be best off using the steelies and weld on beadlocks as they will add a little more width and all outward.
You will likely notice it to be a lot harder to spin the boggers compared to the tsls but you'll crawl where you currently have to giver shit in.
We run boggers in the snow up here. I have 38.5x11 all around and they pull great. A nother fella has an excursion on 44" boggers and takes it out in the snow from time to time.
I just mounted my 44 in boggers on my stock h1's.
The best route is your going to use stock wheels is to switch to DRW hubs. Thats how mine is going to be set up.
I don't think the h1's will even bolt up to the 60 with out hitting the brake caliper?
Heres what I just did to a set for my rig. Cut the centers out, welded in new stamped 3.5 back spacing centers. Added rock rings. Also installed PVC inner beed locks.
me and my brothers all have 44s on h1's 2 are 3.5" backspacing which at full turn with leaf springs they will rub and 1 set is 1" backspacing which i like but id take boggers
i run 44 ground hawgs with stock 4:10 gearing and a bone stock tbi 350... no power problems really. it does alright. the sm465 might help with that tho. oh and its in a 7000lb 91 suburban :flipoff2:
