Alright, I put a hydro system on my 4.3 CHEVFOTA and i am using the factory pump. Now I went to five different stores when I was getting lines made and not one of them could make a line that goes into the back of the pump, so they gave me crush sleeve set up that attaches to the steel line and it blows of at full lock. I want to keep the pump and get arid of the crush sleeve any idea's?
it goes from the PS pump to a orbital,(which I don't know the brand, its off a some piece of equipment that my buddy pulled it off and he didn't remember), into a cooler and ram then return line ran to the pump. yes I tried Napa and they said they didn't make lines, but I'll call another one and see if they make them. but the problem is it has to go into that steel line because of clearance issues
You need a hose, not advice. Keep searching your area till you find someone who can make it for you:shaking:
Just a thought, but have you actually tried a hydraulics shop. I mean, it's not like they deal with that sort of thing every day or anything. I have yet to carry my money into a professional shop, and come away without a working product, if I stick to the professionals. Try Parker store, etc.
Worst case scenario, buy the longest line you can find that fits your pump, and have a new fitting installed on the soft end of the line. It isn't rocket science. Since you have already cut yours down to the steel, you're pretty much limited to what has been tried. For the record, tho, there are plenty of fittings made to do just exactly what you are trying to do on the steel line, and when the ferule is crimped properly, it isn't gonna fucking "blow off". Whether or not there is one that will work with the OD of your hard line, is another matter.
Without knowing what year pump or what the factory fitting looks like and the orbatal fitting looks like how could anybody help..There are adapters out there from Russel, Earl's etc that go from inverted flares with the o ring to 6an..Im guessing the steering valve would be some sorta standard an or industrial common fitting..
Since you cant figure it out yourself nor can you give enough info for anybody here to help you properly put all your crap in a box and drop it off at a hyrualic shops front desk like has already been said.Or get out your camera and post some pics here and specs.
alright thanks for idea's ill try a to find different hydraulic shop than the one I went to and see what they think tomorrow and see what I can do. again thanks
Go to a specialist. Just going to some dipshit that can crimp hoses is not the answer. What you are looking for is not going to be off the shelf in some jobber shop. Hell, I have to carry my own fittings, and fabrication equipment, with me for some of my specialized equipment because your run of the mill jobber only carries JIC, NPT, and the common items. Try to find a #6 British Pipe thread, or a # 8 heavy metric, in fucking Timbuktu, and you will know what I mean.
