I have a TBI454 and want to put a 4L80E behind it. I am currently looking for feedback are suggestions on which aftermarket controller I should go with. Optishift and Compushift are two I currently am looking at. Would love to hear from people with experience from them are others.
Thanks
I want auto shifting, the Optishift offers selectable paddle shifting if you like, but I am mostly interested in the auto shifting. Trying to get away from everything but the skinny pedal and the steering wheel.
A TBI PCM will control it as well. With the right wires, connections, and tune the stock setup will work. As it came from GM that way at one time. Be cheapest route.
Maybe so the Optishift is only 450$, My ECM will not control a auto, and I had a lot of difficulty finding info and wiring diagrams. My current set up is a SM465.
i have used the compushift for about 8 years in my cummins conversion with the 4l80e. It is expensive but has never given any problem. they have great support and will help you set it up to shift any way you want.exracer3
