well got a some stuff done this weekend. with the help of some friends and especially jesse we got the front springs under the truck. all the brake lines are in and bleed.

i plan on putting a few gussits on top of the frame and running a cross tibe over the motor tieing both mounts together

the plan now is to geta lot of little crap done this week. that nice ord trans member needs to be fabbed a bit to clear the front driveline, some more gussits for the lower spring buckets, shocks, reasembling the rear diff, rear anywrap, rock sliders bla bla bla. im really happy with were it sits now. and these deaver springs are really flexy. its getting closer.

Well since Tom is t updating this ill give it a run down. He took it from place to our buddies where he has been doing most of the mechanical end of the build before it comes back to my place for the exo cage. Everything is in and working, we took it for a test drive Tuesday and it handles well. It's a little stiff in the front end (I think shocks) but other then that it seems to stable and safe. Once the rock sliders and skids are done it will be going for a break in run next weekend.

ok jesse geeze. so yea ive been busy on it heres some pics and progress of what we have been doing for the last 3 weeks
so i got the brakes completly done. i ripped out the abs unit and put a rear adjustable perportioning valve on the truck. with duel piston calipers front and rear it stops great. and the stock master works great with the system too. the drum ebrake works well also.
so we also spent a entire week after work making support brackets, tabs, filler plates ect.and thats all done. i also made a support crossmember for the 205 with a puck syle bushing for the case to sit on to support the extra weight. its not mounted on the x member just supporting it. ill post pics of that this weekend.
so heres some pic of other shit we got done

got the box tapped. wasnt as bad as i thought it would be

got the psc ram mounted . bled the system and it works great. didnt wanna steer those 38s very well at a stop without the ram but has no problems now]

josh had a old yota steering arm that we hacked up for double sheer just cuz we could

got the rear antiwrap in place and burned in

then, i disassembled all of it and prep, primed and painted everything exept the radius arms, i still have to do my limiting straps and bottom out bushings.

as jesse said we took it for a test drive tuesday it drove great.

my junkyard nv4500 has bad syncros in 3rd. but thats no to big of a deal. east coast gear supply has a complete rebuild kit for 340 plus shipping. il pull that next month and go through it. i cant complain i only paid 140 bucks for it.

anyways il post some more pic after we get mor progress done this weekend. cant wait to get this thing on the trails

i think you might want to add another support to the 205. that's a lot of torque on that aluminum adapter with that heavy 205 hangin off the end of it.

yea i forgot to say that. i actually put a x member in for the 205 3 weeks ago. i didnt mount it directly to the 205 but its more of a weight/torgue support x member. theres a large rubber bushing on the x member and i made a plate for 205 that lands on the bushing to hold the weight and help with shock from heavy drops on rocks ect.
anyways ..... its ready to rock. i got sliders done last weekend and finished the skid plate too. bumpstops are done. the only thing im waiting on are my wheel spacer i ordered a month ago from motorsports tech. the cage and front bumper are gonna have to wait untill after the hollister trip this weekend so im gonna take it easy but il let you guys know how it goes. heres some pics

slide rails are 2x4 1/4 wall

skid plate is 3/ 16 plate steel

you can see part of the 205 support x member under the back of the last pic, under the skid plate
the skid plate has 2 cross members in the rear bolted in all 4 corners and reinforced with angle iron for strength. it then tapers in the front has 4 post comming from the frame to mounting plates, simular to sandwich plates for a roll cage, with 4 bolts on each corner that are countersunk with tapered bolts so i dont get hung up on them on the rocks. the front is also reinforced with angle iron for strength.

as i said its off to hollister hills this weekend so will see how she performs. you should head up RAGEN will have a half a dozen rigs up there all weekend. headin up thursday n not commin back til monday. im planning on getting plenty of pics to show you guys next week

ok i had a blast this weekend with this thing!!!!! right up to the point my steering pump blew up............................................
luckly jesse had a spare from his 4.3 vortec that worked for a while but agian it failed to later in the trip. so il be calling psc this week to se what my options are for a pump that can handle the volume and flow im asking for offroad.
besides that she handled great. its going to jesses this month for a roll cage and front bumper. and hopefully seats and 4 points. im want to try to get a few runs local in before we go to the con in august.

on a side note you guys may think this is cool. jesse broke a axle shaft friday and our buddy russ came up with a idea for a electro magnet to get the broken part out. the shaft broke on the long tube of his 44 and he had a lunchbox locker so we couldnt push it out from the other side. we used a steering rod from a dana 44 my brother was using as a flag pull. a pair of jumper cables we cut up and put a 1/2 inch drive 6 inch extention in the end to reach in the carrier to pull the broken part out. il post some picks here in a second to better explain.
anyways heres some picks of it in action

that one aboves good. got stuck on my skid plate and my brother tried to push me over. ended um lifting my rear end and his front end off the ground

heres some picks of the electro magnet
sorry bout the black n white its the setting the camera was on for the person takin pics .
anyways jesse n russ took the steering rod and wrapped it with the jumper cables and left enough on the end goin in to come back out to hook to another set of cables going to the battery

we then slid the rode in with a extention for a half inch drive socket on the end of it into the axle shaft tube. russ then hooked it up to his yota battery and after about 2 or 3 tries it came right out.
i loaded a video on you tube il be posting shortly. its a lil scruffy but youl get to see it happen. heres the end result
