Please delete this and re-post it either in the newbie section for help, or back here on Tuesday to get burned.

I heard if you Lincoln lock the front it will fix that problem. Just please don't be an idiot and weld the spiders together, make sure it's ring to pinion. Then give her hell.

Read up on rotating the C's. If you intend to drive it you can't just "shim" the pinion up towards the transfer because it will ruin your castor angle.

You nailed it on the head. You'd think if you ask in a Chevy area you wouldn't get bashed but you do.

put on your man pants or a helmet and take it... that shit was hardly a flame considering what your asking/how your asking it.
but seriously its a pretty dumb question. no not the q it self but how its delivered. i really doubt youll need to cut and turn knuckles for a 6" lift, i mean its so common and not high by any means and so many people make it work with out cutting and turning.... think about it. get wedges. youll need to bust out the brain and measure before hand with an angle finder and some flat ground to figure out what you need to get. and as far as getting those shims this is basic google/4wheelparts stuff

really think I'm a pussy? I've already gone toe to toe with the retard dahoyle. Not really scared of anyone here. Everyone here who is an asshole to new people have some e-weiner issues. The point of this place is to help people who are new to this. You don't want newbs posting here. Make another noob section with each vehicle section. They see Chevy they go hey maybe I can get my answers I need there. But all of you with your hard ons don't see that.

I typically never search for any info on Pirate, 99% of the threads here end up just like this one.

Same with any person who signs up you don't know. They may have a stupid but simple question that they might not grasp but everyone gets butt hurt.

Wow. Post count huh. By your guessing you learn more by posting then reading. My post count is low but my join date is not. I have learned more by reading and not posting.
Either way, the op sounds like he's half retarded so I'll cut him some slack. To the op: use the search button and I'm sure you will find your answer. |

Have you ever been to a party and not known anyone?? And u walk up to this group of people talkin about a subject your interested in......a lot of times if you will jus hang around and listen, most of your questions will be answered or have already been answered for the last five hundred people that have walked up too that conversation before you.

Last time I checked the vehicle specific sections were NOT for general simple and newbie questions. The manufacturer specific forums have always been for build threads and questions pertaining to generally hardcore and custom fab. Just cause you dont like that doesnt mean we're all gonna change. And thats besides the point. The fucking question has nothing to do with the truck being a chevy. Hence even if it were a decent question to ask it belongs in gen 4x4, but its not even that. There was a HUGE thread on here about a month ago pertaining to someone generally new to 4x4s undertaking a solid axle swap. He asked the same question this guy did after giving us enough back ground to show he wasnt a moron asking a dumb question and guess what we all helped the guy. Fuck off if you dont like the way things operate around here. Its not up to you to decide.

Am I an asshole to new people? I can be. Why, you ask? Lets look at it this way. You stated that Pirate is a place for people to go to get information. This is true. Pirate has a great wealth of information. The issue that I have is that the people that want the information refuse to look for it. This website is much more a republican website than a democratic website. Generally we do not spoonfeed people information, because you dont learn if you dont work for it. It seems that you think we should pet everyone's ego just the right way, make sure we didnt hurt their namby-pamby feelers every time they post in the wrong place for information that has been gone over multiple times by multiple people. Searching on this forum is possible even for newbies. Obviously, you dont think we should make them search. If someone is too lazy to search, then they really are on the wrong site, or at least on the wrong part of the site. If I have a question, I search. thats why i have a red star. i can search faster. And I do use my red star, i consider it one of the best investments i have made. Since I have a higher post count than yourself, I happen to post more often. Do I know more than you? I dont know. I seriously dont see you doing a lot of technical assistance posting. Are you hoarding your wealth of knowledge? Do you have a requirement not to help people, or do you just want to complain about those of us that have the information and refuse to let people get something for nothing? Hey, youre the guy telling us that we should give our knowledge away.... tell me how we got it? Should our busted knuckles feed every brain on the intardnet? It doesnt really seem justifiable. So, what do you do for your 4x4 community? you bash people that have technical background because we make people earn their info? How about you just keep your trap shut until you can provide correct and concise technical information that will help others? Naww.... you wanna bitch about the old timers..... edit: as far as e-weiner issues... I dont give a fuck what you call it... If you dont have the balls to put yourself out there technically, then keep your fucking mouth shut. People dont usually find mistakes with my tech, though i have made a few over the years. Would you like me to start digging into yours? its not about the size of my dick. its about being technically correct. if you dont have it, dont talk shit. As far as being a coward, if you ever come into this neck of the woods, I would be happy to meet you and your buddies at the place of your choosing. Ill even bring the beer. You might learn something. you might not. I havent laid hands on a man since 2006, and before that was 1992.... I dont like to fight. Im 5' 2" and 120- lbs.. we can have a hell of a discussion.

I don't post for this reason of people being assholes. You'd scare less people off if you'd tell them where to ask and not be a Dick. Just be up front but not instantly bash like a lot of you do. People see Chevy they think that's the place they need to go for help. Not newbie or general 4x4. also no once its going too know the extent of my knowledge on here cause all I do is lurk for info.

You just dont get it. People dont take the time to read. you might, but 99% of the public wants to be spoonfed. if you are lurking and reading, great. that tells me that you are trying to gather information, because you dont have as much experience as you think you would need. So, if you dont have the technical background, keep your mealy-mouthed trap shut and dont embarrass yourself. There are stickies on the top of the chevy page that tell people to take their stupid questions elsewhere. They dont read them. This allows them to be the victim of their own stupidity. really, thats how it works.
