'94 C3500.......4L80E fawked??
Monday night we left the house, turned off my street, got about 30' and BAM. Tranny made a real loud noise like something let go. After that it stayed in 2nd gear only (I think it's 2nd). OD does nothing. Yesterday I read somewhere that if the computer senses a problem it locks the tranny to 2nd gear only.......any truth to that??
Last wednesday I trailered my toyota 10 hours to Tennessee. I towed the entire way in Drive. Sunday on the way home I towed the first 6-7 hours out of the mountains in Drive and then the rest of the way (flat ground) in OD. Think this is what fawked it?? Any diagnosis I can do at home without a scanner? These have there own computer, right? I do not have a temp gauge on it, nor have I added a cooler or anything other than stock. Did I learn the hard way or what? What's a fair price for a rebuild? Thanks guys

So tonight I go out and pull the neg. cable off of the battery, then hook it back up to clear the tranny computer (so I read). Go for a ride and everything works perfect. What gives?? I'm gonna drive it the 35 miles to work tomorrow to see how it acts, but obviously something is wrong.
