Question about chevy flat-tops
Hello chevy guys, I got a question for you guys about the visual difference between chevy knuckles, here goes:
I have a guy local that has piles of old chevy axles and I want to pull a set of knuckles to do hysteer on my jeep. The only problem is that I don't know how to determine which knuckle I need. I was told that I needed knuckles from a 1/2T truck from 76 and older. The problem is that the axles are all in piles away from the trucks so I have no way of telling the years. Are there any ways to tell which years the axles are from? Are there any telltale signs of which flat-tops I need, all I know is it has to be 1/2T and 76 or earlier model years. Thanks guys, hopefully someone can help... thanks, Judd

uhh there is one big telltale sign... a flattop....
no but seriouslly thats it. Look at the passenger side knuckle(if you can't figure out which one is which leave the sport now), and if there is a big flat shoulder on it same as the driver side, that looks like you could put a steering arm there, then thats what you need. Sold all the ones I had so I can't get pictures someone will have some. The newer ones just have a little flat spot next to the balljoints and its obvious a steering arm couldn't be mounted there.
