Unhappy GMC Jimmy T Case problem

I have a 1997 GMC Jimmy and I cant figure out what the deal is with my Tcase. I can switch to 4 Hi or 4Lo anytime I want, the trick is going back into 2 wheel drive...the Tcase is stuck in 4 wheel and I cant get out, any help will be appreciated

I have a 2000 chevy crew cab that has the same problem. If you just back up after you put it in 2wd about 15ft it will work
