Damn Blazer wont start
Heres what I got, 1985 Chevy Blazer, 305/ auto. Last week, truck ran fine, boss took it to her house(repoed), went to get it last night, she had ran it out of gas. I put some gas in itand cranked, it half ass tried to fire, but didnt. It seemed flooded. The battery was dying so I decided to go back today. Changed the fuel filter, added more gas, no start, wouldn't even fire or act like it this time, changed the coil, distributor, rotor button, and module, still no fire. Hooked a test light to distributer, it has power to it. What the hell else could it be? I never heard of all the plugs going bad at once, but could that happen if too much gas or bad gas?????Stumped.

you very well could have fuel washed your cylinders, in which case the seal of ring to wall has been forefited. the best thing to do at this point is to jerk the plugs and see if they have fire with the plugs stuck in the end of the wires. pile them up on the intake and crank the engine. use some wd40 or some other light oil to spray in the cylinders before your cranking test. it should be enough to restore the compression. and to see if you have spark in all holes.
by the way. did you run out of gas, or did you run into water? I would throw in some dry gas to break up any water that was lieing in wait at the bottom of the tank. you may want to take a fuel sample at the carb when you have the line removed.

well... if its getting gas, and its cranking, then its has to be compression or spark?
does this thing have a 1,000,000 miles on it? did the timing chain jump? is it barfing ,coughing & wheezing out of the carb?

the only other thing is that stupid ass condenser/capacitor in the harness going to the module and to the cap. i have seen those fry and they cant be tested at autozone. also the company (wells) that makes alot of em wont tell you the specs to test it, even if ya had the meter to do so. these bastards are cheap too. they are not in the computer at autozone though. only in their paper catalogs. (some of the dumbasses that work there dont even know they have paper catalogs. and they definatly dont have the skills to use one) they come as the full harness and condenser. but i would go for the plugs first unless the distributor is still apart.
i have broke quite a few chevys
