700R4 problem

Out wheeling this past weekend I wedged myself up against a river bank and a rock and it seemed to be slipping then no movement. I decided to add more oil to tranny thinking it was just low. That worked and finished the trail. But after I stopped and restarted it would not move in any gear. Then let it set for awhile. Restart it and it works for a bit then fades out. same thing let it set restart works for a bit then nothing. Any Ideas This has been 4-years since rebuild. It does have better clutches, better servos and boost valves in it.

does it make a high pitch whining noise when it stops working? sounds like the filter might be plugging up. normally, that's not a good sign at all in a th700. i'd pull the pan and change the fluid and filter. try to take a pic of anything you might find in the pan and post it so we can try to narrow it down some more.

does'nt sound good.

I didn't hear any whining noise. When it 1st did this I thought I heard some rattling noise near the converter or at the pump since it's near the front of the trans. I did check to make shure I didn't shear the bolts off the converter. I was wondering if it was cavitating or the pump might be going. I do know it is overfilled right now. I haven't had the chance to pull it yet. would reading any line pressure off the ports tell me anything. Is there any way to help cavitating when your on your side or severe angles. It will cavitate when I flop it on it's side.

Yeap I rebuilt it last time. I'm gonna order some new parts. I'll use the red eagle clutches through out. I had the red eagle 3-4 gear clutches. Plus all the bigger servos and boost valves. I'll add the 13-vane pump this time and the beast sun gear to help make things stronger. This was caused by my own stupidity. After the initial rebuild on a trip to Paragon the retaining clip holding the presure regulator let loose dropping into the pan. I was pissed and kept my foot in it. This caused the forward clutches to start to fry. It just took 3-years for them to finally get down to metal to metal contact. I'll need a good flush this time of the case and parts

You know any other good places to buy rebuild kits. I've been checking with transmission.net and Macko
