One of the guys (I forget if it's Trevor's or Beau's) at WFO (www.wfoconcepts.com) runs 63" chevy springs up front on his full-size pickup, i think it's a mid 90s 1500. he has them inboarded of the frame at the rear, with the shackle at the rear, and he's running a panhard bar because of the length of the spring. says it rides like a Caddy.
If they don't see this, Trevor is on the board under the screenname Trevor, you could PM him.

considering the blazer front springs measure 23-1/2 x 23-1/2 and you're looking to go to a 32 x 32 that's a pretty big stretch isn't it??? not sure what year it is but it's never a good idea to put rear springs on front (except jeeps) especially on chevy cause of the dutched eyes...you always want to run some type of wrap over the main leaf for support and to lessen axle wrap and you can't with the dutched eyes (it would wear down pretty quick, if not just snap)

thats a long freakin spring to run up front! you'd definitely have to run a panhard to keep it from walking when you steer. 52" or 56" wont be long enough?
![]() oh yeah, is there even enough frame up front to be able to center the axle?

Makes sense except that almost all aftermarket lift springs do no use a double wrapped main eye........ the longer the sping, the more travel you can squeeze out of it. Just my .02 |

Even if you don't put a wrap on it you should run the second leaf directly under the eye of the main for support (another problem with the dutched eye)....47" vs 64" is an awful lot of travel...be ideal for a 21" lift i guess

im happy with the flex i get out of my 46" fronts. if u need more i would go with some kind of link susp.
my front with its short leaves flexes more than my rear with the long leaves. get the right pack and it will do what u need. lots of thin leaves. Last edited by reddman; 05-15-2005 at 12:09 PM. |

I've got 52's in the front of my blazer.. there my rear stock springs, i could of gone 56's and still can if i want because the extra 4 inches is all the tail end of the spring.. my spring hangers are as far up as they will go on the frame so i'm not sure how you'd fit 63's under there unless you do some fab work and extend the front of the frame, i also have ord add a leafs and moved the front axle back an inch..

I was just throwing this out there to see what was up, mine flex`s pretty good now, I would probably do a 3 or 4 link if I did change anything.
Looks like a cool blazer you have there emoo99, I like the tailgate emblem on the left, that is the coolist part, nice way u mounted your winch, that is what I was thinking of doing. Quote:

Here is what 52" can get you. I even left the overloads on and the spring clamps on to help with the wrap. Measured 24" of travel at the tire. Works for me.

You can see that the front flexes way better then the rear. I plan on working on this in a bit.

Those are 39.5"s. The 52" springs up front is about 4" of lift and I have a 1" body lift. Axle is forward about 3" from stock.
I think I can sneak in some 42"s with a little fenderwell work (not much). I plan on running that size when these wear out.
