Your opinion PLEASE
Hey I'm looking at some new springs, I'm tired of the 8" superlift springs I got now. I've contemplated goin to some of the high end guy ie Alcan, Deaver or Nationals. But for the money I just dont see it, Tuff country seems to have the best bang for the buck! I like the Skyjacker but then there about 200.00 more with the added leaf for the heavy duty pack. I'm running a 454 with a heavy front bumper and a PTO winch. So manly what do you think 4 or 6 inch, heavy duty or softride? tuff country, rough country, skyjacker, superlift, BDS or go high end?

I am running genuine suspension 6" springs up front. Also runing a 454, and a winch and they support the weight just fine. Flex really well too. I thought my bumpstops were low enough, turns out they wern't, the tires made themselves fit under the fenders.

Why don't you like the springs you have now ?
What are you trying to gain by getting new ones ? Towing, flex or what ?

the truck is too big, I'm probably not going to be able to get the use out of it that I intented. So i'm thinking go lower and run a 35-37 inch tire. for some flex and mud, if I got to a big lift agian I'll get a burban or something longer. the front drivshaft is a huge issue.

I've got 4" Tuff Country HD springs in front and 4" EZ ride in back (they don't offer HD in the rear for some reason). I went with HD in the front because I'm thinking BBC in the future, and b/c I can't stand to drive something with a really spongy, unresponsive suspension that wallows through the curves even if it does ride a little rough (which it does).
I've been pretty happy with them overall (especially the fronts). I've lost a little height out of the rear springs over 2 years of hard use (DD, hot-rod, worktruck, and trail rig) but not bad. The fronts haven't sagged at all as far as I can tell. The thing flexes like I never would have imagined, and even with the HD springs, it's pretty even articulation, front to rear. I just wish that they offered HD rears b/c her ass sags pretty low when I get a good load on it and since I installed a Detroit, the wheelhop has gone from irritating to GODAWFUL!!! If you're thinking winch, bumper, and BB, I'd definately go for HD springs in front whatever brand you decide on. FWIW, the place I ordered mine from said that the Tuff Country HD front springs were the only lift springs on the market (at that time anyway) that were rated and warranteed for use w/ a plow.
