Cummins to early GM NV4500
Well I finally got around to doing a Chevy/Cummins swap.We put it in my brothers 67' K20.The question is can an early GM nv4500 be used? We already have one and need to get this truck going. He prefers to keep the lower first gear and we need to use GM trans so we don't have to swap out the tailshaft to run a 205. Any info would be great.

I am using a GM nv4500 (1996) All you have to do is change the input shaft to a Dodge and use a dodge bellhousing clutch etc..then you can use a CTD to Dodge nv4500 adapter plate (factory stuff)

In the Advance Adapters NV4500 instruction manual (page 4) it states "..this input shaft cannot be interchanged with any other NV input shaft other than transmissions with the same 1 st gear ratio UNLESS you change the counter drive gear also." So in your case it can be done with some extra work. I hope this helps you.
