Thinking of new truck - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

I am thinking of selling, or if that doesn't fly parting out, my rig and getting something more driveable. Not that I want to, Its just I dont get to use it for what it was built for. Anyway I was looking at a 93ish Chevy 1500 4x4 Z71. The truck looks to be in very good condition. Has a spray in bedliner of some sort, tool box, and no body rust. He has 5800 obo on his sign, and my buddy tells me that the truck has been up for sale for nealy 2 months. I am thinking that 5800 is way to steep, as kelly blue blook rates it at 4500. What would be a good offer to give him. I am usually good at working people down, just takes time. I am going to go look at the truck on saturday, and need some input.

This is what I drive about 50 miles daily

Also What do you think I could pull out of this truck. Its not much to look at, but mechanically, is very strong and unworn.
Has a 454/th350/NP205 Engine has roughly 65K miles and tranny has 7K
Fresh D44 front with crossover 14bFF rear both 4.10 and posi.
6" suspension 3" body
custom tube bumper, front and rear, and Mile marker 12K winch.
37 Boggers on aluminum wheels.
New and nearly new(less than 1 year on front, and 1.5 on rear) driveshafts.
Lots of other doodads and upgrades. Nearly everything on the truck is new under 2 years old, and is in full working order. The body I ran out of money and havn't gotten to do.

axles engine cab and bed are 76, doghouse is 78, trans and t-case are 79 (not sure on t-case 78?), winch is 1.5 old and never used.

I might be interested too. I could use the winch. Have been wanting a Dana 44 cross over steering setup but I havnt done it yet for money reasons. I might be intersted in the gears too. What size wheels are those, I might be interested in the tires too.

I would say for a 93 mid to low 4000 is about right. If its not a dealer then that would be what I would offer.

I just sold me 93 xcab z71 with 137k on it for $3700. It had minimal rust but almost everything that old here in MN does.

Well I went and looked at the z71, Junk. Passenger side was repainted, 120+K miles, and unerneath was rusted to hell. I dont know what to do. I might keep my truck and get a cheap s-10 or something to drive around.

Well, sorry guys, looks like I might keep her. I found a 91 s-10 for 1600 about 2 hours form where I live. Hopefully it isnt a complete peice of shit and I will buy it.
