So today I was real productive and got this fancy plate made to cover that big hideous hole for the shifters. Its 1/8 inch aluminum and it took a minute to get it to conform to the floor, but it turned out nice. Now I just need a boot. Its not much, but progress is progress.

I just read the whole thing and I just have to say, you are fawking awsome. All that with a stick welder. You make me rethink my desire to learn to MIG, I can weld with a stick pritty well and with enough practice I can retain the mad skills you have. Gosh I want a beater to link, ughhhh.

One day man, one day. Unless you want to pony up for the new gears/wheels/tires.

Got the seat frame completed, and finished the shoulder harness mounts. Once my harnesses get here, I can weld the tabs on, paint the steel, and the interior will be nearly complete.

I ended up cutting off the bar that ran along the bottom of the harness bar frame, in favor of this. less clutter, and it was simpler to tie in.

Don't know if it's worse not having a beater to link, or having the beater and no money?

Awesome build so far Can't wait to see it finished... or at least something close to that!

could you measure the distance between the frame and the rear axle (essentually the length of the coils). thanks
been meaning to answer that for ya for a while, just haven't gotten to it. So here ya go.

If you draw a line level with the the bottom of the frame back to the mount, it is roughly 7" from the bottom of the frame the bottom of the upper spring mount. The coils are 20" relaxed, and settled roughly 2" I'd imagine that once I fill the fuel tank and add a rear cargo box and gear it will go down another inch or so.

As far as the front goes I'm going to leave it stock for a while. Aside from some fender trimming. Eventually I would like to narrow and tube it out as well.

Sure does look better in paint. Still waiting on lockers. Hopefully the next full truck pics you see will be some poser flex shots.

I thought that at first, then looked at the orientation to the front tires. The angle of the camera is not plum straight with the truck.

The picture is taken slightly from the left side of the truck. It's probably more just an "optical illusion" than actually being off center.
