I Need help 454 intake issues - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

So i have my long block assembled, but today i was going to throw in the intake (stock) and i think it may not be the right kind... is this possible?? The block is from an 82 suburban (81 actually stamped) , the intake is the one that came with the block but the heads are slightly newer (85 and up) and are the peanut as you can see by the gasket (gasket kit purchased to match 82 block) ... as you can see from pictures gasket does not vent for all jackets, also intake leaves top jackets open, are they just vent?? do i need a different intake? Also, note how intake fits , you will see painted area where intake did not cover. Please advise, thank you.

i just did this 2weeks ago and i started freaking out, calling all my friends trying to find out wtf!!!

they are noting, they are a empty pocket that goes nowhere. they will get oil that seeps up from the bottom of the gasket but they are not a passage of anytype. its ok.

yeah i would be wondering too, it looks crazy but is how the heads are hehe

ive never been able to ever mess with a BBC engine ever, would be a whole new world to me, hmm....

how do you add general pics to myspace

im not seeing where to click to add any like that

how about the gasket and the rest of the bottom jackets? should i perforate the gasket or should i get different type gasket???
