BBC vs. SBC

I have a 383 stroker motor and I have a 468 BB. My question is not which one to use, I know I want the BB! My question is does anyone have any solid facts on both motors? Not hp/torque ratings but size and weights. I want to make sure the BB is going to fit in the buggy before I start tearing everything out.

Well I have numbers to help you, they are close enough.
BBC 700lbs
SBC 400lbs

Holy crap almost double the weight! Damn the buggy was almost balanced! How about length and width comparisions, those would help too. Thanks

I think they both weigh more than that. A BBC is about 2" taller, wider and longer than a SBC. If you can put a BBC in an S-10, then you can put it anywhere. If you get alum heads, intake and water pump, it weighs what a SBC weighs. I had a SBC in my 78 Malibu, then put a 468 with all alum stuff, and other than the power increase, didnt ride any different.
