Can I swap a S10 Blazer 89' TBI 4.3L engine into a 93' S10 Truck?

Ok here it goes!

I have a 1993 S10 4x4 truck, auto, that has bad main bearing(s). The motor is a 4.3l TBI "Z".

I picked up a complete (All brackets, alt, starter, computer, TBI intake, etc.)TBI "Z" motor from a 89' S10 blazer.

Will I have any problems swapping the 89' into the 93'?

Since the 89' is complete can I just drop it in or will I need to swap any parts? If so what?

Will I need to swap out the 93' computer with the 89'? Or will the computer and other relays/modules work without swapping anything out?

Thanks,
Jeff

Should bolt right in. Use the 'puter out of the 89. Otherwise, pretty much all the same. There might be a few minor differences but between the two motors you got yourself a bolt up affair....

One thing you want to check, you are in CA you can't retro fit engines, if the computer in the 93 is different and you can not use it the smog shop will know you have an 89 computer.
Now you could just swap in the long block and reuse you computer injection accessories etc.
Now you might find out that 89 and 93 were identical then what I am saying will work either way.

Simple swap.
I would take the intake/fuel injection system off the '93 and drop it on the '89 block. Drop the whole thing in. Go with the newer accessories too.

I just swapped a '85 2 piece rear main seal 4.3L carb engine from a fullsize truck into a '93 CPI S10-Blazer. Other then a custom oil pan and drilling one accessory mounting hole in the passengers head, everything swapped over. I used the long block from the '85 and everything else off the '93.

if you go this route. do it with both motors pulled... it's much easier than trying to put the intake/fi system on while the motor is sitting in the truck...
