I have a 1979 C30 (one ton dually) Camper Special, 454, 4sp manual. I am curious what the factory tow rating was for this truck. The bumper hitch is SERIOUSLY upgraded beyond just the bumper, and should not be the weak link in the chain.

The maximum trailer weight rating for the C30 was 12,000 lb in '79. That was only if you got the 4.56 gears.

Sounds like it could be interesting(ly scary)! Was it upgraded by you or the unknown? Weld quality and design? Got pics? Not doubting......it's just that mention of "bumper hitch"........
