i have '79 1 ton with D60, 14bbt, np205,sm465, 350sbc. i have 38's with 4.10s. i want lower gears so im thinkin 4.56's or 4.88s. i think 5.13s are a little low. i will eventually go to bigger tires so yeh. also what brand of gears and thinkin detroit in rear and wat for the front. i want a locker.

You wheeling only or DD the truck? That should be the ultimate deciding factor on what gears to run.
My sig truck has 38.5 inch Boggers, 3.73 gears currently and am changing out for a 4.56 set. Which is low enough to restore some bottom end, but high enough so I won't kill the motor on the highway, as I DD it some.

I agree with above 4;56 if u have to drive it daily if it a trail beast 5:13's or even 5:38s will make a huge difference. I personally run detroits or spools in everthing keeps it simple!

I think 4.56 if it is a DD

I would go with an electric in the front unless you want to keep it cheap, then go with a lockrite

go 4.56 and go lower in the Tcase. You still haven't answered the golden question. WTH do you want to do with it? Kinda helps us to advise you.
