chev dual alernators

i have a 93 s15 jimmy 4.3,and i would like to add dual alternators to power extra lights ,winch ect. how would i go about wireing the second alt in to my existing electrical system.thanks

i would just run the power wire to the bat.....kinda ghetto but easy

Cut the brown wire going to your current alternator, use a good connector and reconnect it with 2 leads coming out the end, and take the new lead to the input on the new alternator. There is likely a power distribution block on your firewall, in not route the power wire to the battery. If you ditch the AC the bracket is nearly perfect for a second alt.

my ac doesent work anyways so that braket would work fine,thanks for the help

Saw the way you used the ac bracket for a dual alternator, I did the same but I kept the ac in for onboard air, and since the smog pump was already gone I used that area for the second alternator, one of the bolt holes that held the smog pump in worked well and all I had to do was weld in a pair of aluminum tabs for the other end of the alternator... I'll post a picture of it as soon as I can get one... so you are running the alternators in parrallel but one of them gets really hot? Is there another way to run them and avoid early failure due to the over heating??
